Counter IED Dismounted Operations
Course ID: OPS COUNTERIEDDISMOUNTEDOPERATIONS
The CIEDDOPS course was created to enhance each operator’s capabilities to prepare for, respond to, and mitigate an IED threat utilizing an advanced training methodology. This is accomplished
Mission Objectives
The following set of mission objectives have been identified as capability gaps within the operator community.
-SWAT Interoperability
-Urban Dismounted Operations
-Vertical Dismounted Operations
-Confined Space/Subterranean
-Extended Dismounted Operations
-Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED)
-
-Coordinated Attack
-Mass Casualty Incident (MCI)
SWAT Interoperability
Course ID: OPS SWATINTEROPERABILITY
The EOD/SWAT Interoperability Course is an intensive 40-hour course based on
Threat Overview and Assessment
Understanding the current threat is key to preparing to mitigate it. We will discuss trends and challenges we face today and will face in the future. Proven methods and techniques developed and practiced both in the US and abroad will be shared to properly prepare operators for the Counter IED mission.
Tools & Technology
Some of the most advanced technology available today will be demonstrated and or discussed relative to Counter IED missions. A highly trained operator armed with the appropriate gear is not only a more effective operator but a force multiplier as well. Micro UGV’s (Unmanned Ground Vehicles) and
Counter IED Threats & Tactical Movements
Swat operators will become familiar with basic explosives knowledge and the IED threat. EOD operators will develop rapid threat assessment skills and practice Fast Action Hand Entry Techniques developed by our Israeli operators and practiced successfully here in the US on operations including the “Boston Marathon Attack”.
To properly prepare one must train as you fight. Standing around wondering what to do is not an option in the real world and will not be an option here. OPS15 will push operators through stress-induced scenarios that will simulate those faced on
Homemade Explosives Operations
Course ID: OPS HOMEMADEEXPLOSIVESOPERATIONS
The HME Operators Course is an intensive 40-hour course based on a solid chemistry foundation. The
Chemistry of Explosives
Classroom lectures on the science, synthesis, manufacture, safety, and mitigation of HME and the availability of HME precursors. Interactive chemist led safety conscious evolution where participants manufacture secondary energetic materials in the field from readily available precursors. These materials are then tested and sampled and detonated on the range.
Current Threats & Trends
Identification of Hazards & Evidence Collection
Recommended tools are discussed along with all options available to properly identify hazards and non-hazards. New ways to use traditional gear will be demonstrated along with safe and effective evidence collection techniques for legal prosecution.
Render Safe Tools & Techniques
Development of an OPS15 recommended logic tree approach when operating in a permissive or non-permissive environment. Proper utilization of purchased equipment and improvised tools to properly and safely conduct render safe operations. Recommendations on explosive tools and downrange considerations to effectively mitigate known and unknown hazards.
CBRNE
Course ID: OPS CBRNESCENARIOBASEDTRAINING
The OPS15 staff delivers challenging scenarios based on mission objectives, capability requirements, and real-world events that are designed to meet the team’s specific goals and objectives. Our experienced instructor cadre will challenge the most advanced teams through a building block approach. Multiple disciplines will be engaged to include:
-Operations
-Communication
-Medical
-Survey
-Logistics
