The KING COBRA firefighter hoods have been engineered to maximize protection. such as heavier elastic in the face opening, which stretches 25% more than conventional fire hoods, makes for easy donning and a snug fit around face or SCBA mask. Their unique COMFORT-PLUS hood lining reduces fatigue from heat stress by wicking moisture off the skin while offering exceptional flame and thermal resistance. Only state-of-the-art flame-resistant fabrics are used assuring permanent flame and heat protection even after years of use and repeated laundering. Seams are sewn twice with heavyweight 100% Nomex thread, reducing the likelihood of failure and maximizing bursting strength. Longer front and back drape design makes sure the hood stays tucked in even during the most strenuous activity. For additional peace of mind, all KING COBRA hoods (construction and fabrics) are Underwriters Laboratory classified to meet or exceed the NFPA 1971 - Current Edition. Thank's to PGI's COMFORT-PLUS liner, KING COBRA firefighter hoods are amazingly soft and breathable. DuPont's NOMEX and Lenzing Fiber's LENZING FR are blended together to create an exceptionally durable and comfortable flame resistant fabric they've named COMFORT-PLUS. The COMFORT-PLUS liner wicks moisture away from the skin more effectively than other flame resistant fabrics making KING COBRA hoods feel cooler in hot environments and warmer in cold environments. All seams are flat-stitched so they won't dig into your skin or bunch up. Seamless chin area and improved patterning ensure the ultimate in comfort, fit and protection. Rib-knit fabrics, which stretch and recover 35% better than typical fire hood fabrics, give the KING COBRA
firefighting hoods superior fit while maintaining the original shape better even after repeated laundering.
